About me.
Hi, I'm Melissa Brown
I am a self-love & relationship coach and creator of Soul Love. For more than 20 years working with women has been my passion. Professionally, I have more than 20 years experience as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, with degrees from Morgan State University, and The Ohio State University. I’m an ordained minister in the African- Methodist church with a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary; so I am well equipped to blend the psychological with the spiritual.
My work with women has opened many doors of opportunity, as I have been an internet radio host, through Voice America Empowerment Radio; a frequent retreat and seminar facilitator; as well as a regular expert coach on Washington D.C’s News Channel 8’s morning show; “Let’s Talk Live”.

My clients often ask me how is it that I “get them” and understand them so easily. And as a woman who has been driven to pursue many goals, I know exactly what it’s like to try to do it all. I’m very familiar with being in the role of being everything to everybody.
As a single woman, I called it being busy; but as a military wife, business owner, and a mother to 3 kids, it was a formula for burn out. So while I am professionally trained, I also have a wealth of personal experience and compassion for the woman who loses herself in her own life. As I was being there for everyone else, I was becoming resentful that no one was showing up for me. I didn’t know that I had projected such an image of self-sufficiency that I didn’t know how to say that I was in need. I had to go through my own process of learning how to say no to those things that no longer worked, so I could say yes to me. I had to re-teach people how to treat me.
My coaching style is to meet you right where you are; but my assignment is to gently move you into the woman you are called to be. I am fully committed and invested in your success.
